Crash Bandicoot made his return with a brand new games on consoles this year with Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, but the bandicoot will be back again soon in a new adventure coming to mobile. And IGN has a new look at gameplay from Crash Bandicoot: On the Run!
Watch the video above for a new look at four levels in On the Run, and read on for some more details about what to expect from these areas in the upcoming mobile runner.
Great Gate will see Crash attempting to scale a massive wooden grate, running across raised wooden platforms while using iron jump crates, returning from mainstay Crash games, to reach new heights. Venus Fly trap enemies are among the foes players will encounter. The official description reads:
“Deep in native villages and high amongst the treetops, the Great Gate is a sight to behold, even though Uka Ukahas scared all the villagers away. But if you start feeling above it all, there are plenty of thorny traps –and a couple Bandicoot eating plants –all too happy to bring you back down to earth.”
Sewer or Later
Sewer or later brings the underground level from Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back… well, back into the spotlight, as Crash scours the sewer tunnels for collectibles, fights scrubbers and spiders, and avoids barrels. The official description reads:
“Dark, dank and dangerous, if you run into any Scrubber Bubbletrons down here, then watch out, they’re here to clean up the sewers –and that includes pesky Bandicoots!”

Revisiting the prehistoric swampland players traversed in Crash Bandicoot: Warped, Dino-Might will allow players to collect special items as they avoid lava traps, firey boulders, and intimidating geysers. The level’s official description reads:
“Thick sludgy swamps, dinosaur bones, volcanic lava … yup, this prehistoric track is hot-to-trot. No sweat for a blazing fast Bandicoot, though, right?”
On the Run features two snow levels: Bear It! and Snow Go, with the latter being featured in the gameplay above. Avoid pressing machines, robo-penguins, and robo-seals as you run through the level. Oh, and there are falling stalactites to further hamper your progress, too. The official description is:
“This winter wonderland looks heavenly, but there’s a no time for snow angels -stay frosty and watch out for robo-penguins and roboseals.”
Mobile publisher King confirmed On the Run! earlier this year, with a launch planned on iOS and Android phones. Those who pre-register will receive the Blue Hyena Skin from Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled at launch. Enemies like Dr. Neo Cortex, Dingodile, and more will appear, with levels offer secret paths and boss battles. Players will also have a base for Crash and Coco that can be built up and customized, and asynchronous multiplayer is also planned.
