If you’re looking to pick up a new console this Black Friday, a Nintendo Switch might very well be the best option. Sony and Microsoft both have new hardware out, but they’re getting snatched up faster than you can say ‘limited stock available’.
What’s more, 2021 looks to be a particularly exciting year for the Switch, with exclusives like Breath of the Wild 2 and No More Heroes 3 slated for release. Basically, it’s not too late to hop on the bandwagon.
On Monday we reported that Asda have cut the price of their Switch down to £239.99 – sadly unavailable at the time of writing (they do go fast, eh?). It’s not surprising the Asda deal sold out. Nintendo prefers to keep their flagship console at a high price, rarely dipping into double digit discounts. That said, they are offering a few good bundle deals here and there, packaging the console with best-sellers like Minecraft and Animal Crossing: New Horizons. You can check them out on our Nintendo Switch Black Friday Hub.
If you’re willing to hold out until next week, there may be some even cheaper discounts in store: Aldi has promised to take £50 off the retail price, selling the Switch for £229.99. It’s an online-only offer starting on Friday the 27th and running until Monday the 30th, though it’s doubtful that the Switch stock will last that long. It’ll likely launch sometime in the night, so be sure to have your browser at the ready, set to the Aldi store webpage.
Tesco price matched with their own £230 offer, which is rumoured to start on Tuesday the 24th. The hitch is that Tesco’s discount will likely be in-store only: bad news for those who are self-isolating, or folks who are really picky about their colours. But it’s a good backup plan if you don’t fancy keeping an all night vigil on the Aldi website. Just remember to keep your mask on and your hands sanitised to oblivion.
